How do you get views to open automatically 

I'm just starting out and haven't used treemacs or lsp-treemacs before.  Is there a way to get a particular view to up automatically when an lsp-java buffer opens?  For example - the symbol view?  Or alternatively can I set that as a default for a particular treemacs workspace?
