Can Obsidian.nvim use the date format defined in your Obsidian vault?

When I create a daily note with :ObsidianToday with no date format defined for daily notes, it doesn't use the daily note format defined in vault-dir/.obsidian/daily-notes.json (Daily Notes is a core Obsidain plugin):
