Is there a way to get live tv dedection to have the same results as without?

I notice live_tv=1 detection yields slightly different results as live_tv=0. Is there no way I can get the results to be the same? The results are usually better with it off. 

I am almost sure they use to be the same. At the end of the recording the results were always adjusted.
