WiFi won't connect

I'm having a hard time configuring WIFI to download the EiBI schudule and sync NTP. Firstly, the "failed to connect" message blinks by way too quickly... Secondly although I can configure and save the settings under "AP Only" or "AP + Connect", I cannot get the radio work under "connect" (error of "no WiFi connection") or download EIBI "Failed connecting to EIBI"

1. Can the status messages be slowed down?
2. What might I be doing wrong?

I have upgraded two different radios to 2.26 and followed the user manual exactly for configuring wifi the first time.
Once configured and saved, whether I try to connect to my router or to my phone open hotspot, the connection always fails...
Yes, the attempt lasts longer, but now it fails without showing an error message.
No DHCP is shown on the about page, only the WiFi MAC address...
I'm at my wits end with this. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Maybe you got one with a Diva ESP? Problems with WiFi and ESP aren't entirely unknown... I also know it from playing with ESPeasy...
I have two of these radios here. The first radio worked right away, but I also had issues with WiFi on the second radio.
I then flashed it twice, manually performing a complete reset each time. After that, it worked via AP+Connect, i.e., I accessed the setup via the AP and then entered the Wi-Fi data.

Do you have other ESP based stuff that works with your WiFi?

I've just tried with a third radio, this one a 2nd generation atsmini, also just upgraded to firmware 2.26...

I can connect the radio to a computer or phone with AP just fine.

Same issues. Could I be doing something wrong with the config set up? For each of these radios i've set up 3 different "Wifi network" with and without passwords.

I do have a ESP Meshtastic device that works fine with my network.

Why??? Do you have three different networks the radio can log into?
If not, then use ONLY one entry, the first one, to log into the network.

And... Do you still have enough free DHCP addresses left? This can also happen if the lease period is too long and/or there aren't enough addresses available for DHCP. It's not a problem for most people, but for me, it sometimes gets crowded on the network... Just to be on the safe side...

I think this was entirely user error. I mis-interpreted "WiFi Network" as something I needed to define rather than the name/pwd of the router or hotspot i needed to connect to...

I think my confusion was with the term "access point" at one place in the documentation referring to the radio AP and in another place the external APs being logged into.

Now it works with both my Internet Provider supplied router and my phone hotspot!
