it would be great to 1) make an official STL 3d model with an additional "grid" for the second speaker 2) show a link to the speaker model you have used on aliexpress or whatever
Is the sound a lot better with these speakers ?

a deeper backcase that can hold one or two 18650 ... bigger speakers and some audio amp ... display at top (antenna then to the rear) ... speakers to the front when the radio stands on that higher backcase

...I'm currently working on a base station into which the MiniRadio simply slides in. However, it will have significantly larger speakers, active high/mid and bass separation, and volume, treble, and bass controls.
It will also (probably) contain three 18650 batteries along with a charging circuit and step-up for charging/powering the radio.
However, since I still have plenty of other projects to work on and it's summertime (we have a large property), it will take a while.
When it's finished, I'll be happy to present it here, along with FreeCAD and STL files.

also a nice idea .. keep the radio as is and add an external amp and power station :-)

If you have a little patience, it only exists in my head at the moment.
I still have to finish welding my wife's car (I certainly haven't found all the "surprises" yet), and two days ago I was given a Revox PR99 MKIII along with a studio cart. It was used in a large German radio studio until 1989 and has been "stored" with a certain Messi since then, and it looks accordingly awful. I'm currently restoring it. Analog audio technology/tube technology always takes priority for me ;)
