This would be nice, so you know where it's most likely to find stations. Even better would be if the bands could be shown on the frequency scale, like on radios with real analog scales:

I also had this on my mind, your idea to highlight it is great, it can also be done the opposite way, for example using grey, and white for broadcast. Would be useful for people who like to listen to pirate radio for example. 🙂
