Meaning of the small red icon that appears to the right of the reception level

When listening to FM broadcasting stations (88:108 MHz.), a small red icon (rescue) appears (for a moment) next to the signal strength bar.
What is the function of the command "Settings save icon" (right after the RSSI meter)? What is it for?

The receiver has many parameters:

• current band and mode
• current frequency
• volume
• various menu options

They all need to be saved into the flash memory that persists when the receiver is powered off (otherwise you'll have to set up everything from scratch each time you power it on).

The reason it happens after 10 seconds of no activity is that the flash memory has limited number of write cycles. The delay helps to reduce the writes.
