The Remote Transmitter page says "see dumper output for more info" 37 times, and never once explains what it is or where to access it. The only information I can find about a dump is on the remote receiver page. If possible, there should be a hyperlink to the dumper output relevant documentation if they exist, or the text should be removed if it is inaccurate.

So if you were only using a transmitter, this either wouldn't apply to you or you'd need to add a separate receiver?

Correct if you only have a transmitter you can not dump anything. Many rf boards can do both like the cc1101, sx126x and sx127x
