Support for backgrounding updates of devices

Describe the enhancement

When updating devices, it would be nice if this could be initiated as a background task, and not a full-screen log that you need to look at for it to complete. Marking device that failed the update in the list, and maybe showing a spinner on the device currently updating or some progress indicator.

Use cases

Would be easier to see which device is updating, and which ones that failed when updating all. And letting me use the web interface for other tasks while devices update.
