Released vs Supported

What exactly is the difference between released and supported ESP-AT versions?

The supported version description seems to indicate that you can develop my own core-at lib.

Supported versions. You can click [supported] to go to the corresponding branch and develop your own AT firmware.

Am I misreading this?

As a followup question, how accurate is the recommendation for ESP32:

v3.3.0.0

Recommended released version: v3.2.0.0

&

v3.2.1.0

Recommended released version: v3.2.1.0

Why is the latest version not recommended? Unstable for ESP32? If so, how unstable would the latest version be for ESP32 instead of the recommended 3.2.0/1.0?

Roughly speaking:

• Released means the AT firmware for the corresponding chip has been released, and it has passed extensive testing with numerous test cases.
• Supported refers to a branch that supports certain chips, but the firmware for those chips hasn't been extensively tested
