Search in 'Installed Apps'

We didn't have this initially, but now many users have tons of apps, it might make sense? It can be a pain to find an app quickly to be able to click the 'download' button or remove it.

What does everyone think?

I've always wanted a search or sort there. But I realized I could just search the main app list if I knew what I was looking for.

When I was first learning things, I wished I could filter to installed apps with interfaces, so I could see which I could experiment with, but I'm not sure if that's actually that useful.

I wouldn't say no to this, but in my eyes, it would be slightly redundant, as kidneyhex mentioned, if you know what to search for, you can just search on all apps and see if it's installed...

Edit: having a sort would be useful for the apps page though, I would use that quite a bit

Yes please -- I was needing this today. There's no CTRL+F / find for me from inside GB / App Manager on Android that I can see (even tried BT keyboard) 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏻‍♂️ and CTRL+F doesn't result in search-term -related apps listed next to each other, obviously.

+1 also for sort on installed apps, in particular by "recent".

Is there a log of installed/updated with ordering / timestamp stored on-device? (quick websearch suggests not) -- I'm not noting down what/when I install/update, which is very complacent of me I know!

(( I work around with Library tab & sort:-recent and always-show-reinstall -- but, because I'm not noting down what/when, I have low confidence in what I'm seeing aaahhhh! ))

Apols, haven't checked to see if hooks are already available to knock up an app even just to append to a txt file on install/update, bonus with timestamp and version; perhaps even install-source...

I'm not sure if we currently store when apps are installed, but we could potentially append it to info.json for each app upon install, and then use that to see when each app was installed and sort from that. @gfwilliams what do you think?

Yes, we could definitely store date in the JSON. However the current (unsorted) order is the order of the files in storage, which is the order in which they were last modified - so most recent at the bottom.

... so for now I'd be tempted to reverse order the, and then we do unsorted for recent, and then sort if another sort order is selected

Oh amazing, I hadn't realised 🤦🏼‍♀️ most-recent was at the bottom of the My Apps tab -- thanks heaps for that! 🌈🌈🌈

Yeah, even just having static UI to make that clear on the tab would be grand (tho filter + sort FTW obvs!) -- or a quck reverse the current ordering to put most-recent at the top, while the filter/sort UI is in-dev?

This is a bit of an aside, but would it be better if instead of chips we just have filter and sort dropdowns? Especially on a phone it does look a bit cluttered, and as only one can be selected from filter and sort, we could just do dropdowns instead... Would it be objectively better, or should we stick with chips for now?

A drop-down like we do for selecting which Bangle might be good? The 'filter' in particular is getting out of hand.
