Posted at 2023-04-27 by @gfwilliams Hi - I'm really sorry to hear this. What kind of water was it? Salt water? First step is I'd let the battery run down, then leave it somewhere warm for some time - having it charged while it's wet will make damage more likely. There are some posts on the forum about opening it but basically it's much like an iPhone. You need to warm the screen up (but not past 100 degrees C or the LCD gets damaged) and then the glue will melt on the LCD and you can pull it off with a suction cup. It's been suggested that if you have access to a 3D printer with a heated bed, that would be pretty much perfect for this. The good news is that it sounds like your Bangle is probably mostly ok, and the issue is that water has got into the button - so if you can get it apart then just rinsing the little battery PCB out with fresh water and making sure it's 100% dry would probably fix it for you Posted at 2023-04-30 by user155301 Hi, i did part of what you said (i did not open the watch)
... And voilà! It is back up and running, no flaw seen for a day Problem solved. Thanks for the comforting message Posted at 2023-05-02 by @gfwilliams Excellent! Glad it's working ok now! It is possible that 2 days may not be enough to dry it fully, so now you know that's what it is, it might be worth trying it a bit more just to ensure it really does dry out completely :) |

Hi,
My bangle2.js fell in water...
I tried to dry it immediatly (rice, oven at 40 °C)
Now it is rebooting in cycle, I can't stop it totry to upload firmware. By the time I can detect it, it reboots...
Is there a way to open it an check if I can dry the interior?
Thanks!
