Problem with ethers.js, otherwise working fine (?)

Example call of mint method with ethers.js:

var sendPromise = contract.mint(1, []);
sendPromise.then(function(transaction){
	console.log(transaction);
});

1/ getter methods of contract are working fine, setters also
2/ second argument of mint() is bytes32[], i thought there was problem with it but it doesn't even work with empty []
3/ when testing with etherscan.io contract edit, it works: mint(1, [])
4/ contract mint method: function mint(uint256 _howmany, bytes32[] calldata _proof) public payable modifierX {

What I am getting:
Error: cannot estimate gas; transaction may fail or may require manual gas limit (error={"reason":"cannot estimate gas; transaction may fail or may require manual gas limit","code":"UNPREDICTABLE_GAS_LIMIT","error":{"reason":"processing response error","code":"SERVER_ERROR","body"

Meanwhile I will try it without that array, but any ideas why it works with etherscan and not with ethers.js? Thanks.

mein gott, i realised I somehow clipped out property dictionary with "value", so that was it. sorry to bother
