Is there a way to simulate a pending transaction with call()?

I'm trying to simulate a transaction in the Pending block, but it doesn't seem to work, could it be that call() doesn't support pending simulations?

You don't have to explicitly mention block: "pending", that is implicit. From the rpc specs it doesn't seem eth_call accepts block option.
