In v6, there are no sub-properties for utils. Change ethers.utils.parseUnits to ethers.parseUnits. :)

How can we check whether the contract is deployed or not?

getting these errors, while running this line

Error deploying contract: TypeError: deployedContract.deployed is not a function
    at deployTokenContract (CreateTokenContext.js:70:1)

await deployedContract.deployed();

what should I use?

You probably want to use the contract.waitForDeployment() for v6.
