Key up event breaking select all functionality

With my cursor in a cell, pressing cmd-a to select all works momentarily before immediately destroying the selection. If I hold command, and tap 'a' I successfully select the contents of the cell but on the release of command the cell unselects the contents. This makes things like select all -> copy very difficult.
