OIDF - Conformance tests for OID4VC
Overview
The OIDF will continue to collaborate with the EC to support any regional conformance requirements.
At this time, draft tests are already available and proven out. The OIDF encourages implementers of OpenID4VP 1.0 and OpenID4VCI 1.0 to consider using and providing feedback on these freely available tests to assess any gaps in their deployments. The tests can be run locally or against OIDF servers.
The OIDF has currently available conformance tests for OID4VC specifications, testing wallets for OID4VP with mdocs & sd-jwt vc and x509_san_dns:

These tests do not cover testing that credential itself is well-formed (in other words, it will not catch an error if something is wrong in the payload), but they test that the protocol is implemented correctly (parameters, privacy/security features, etc.)
Work Plan
- The EC is following up with OIDF regarding the conformance tests.
Updates
- 2025-11-17: OIDF shared an update on the OpenID4VP/OpenID4VCI conformance tests, including current availability, HAIP alignment work, future self-certification, and planned accreditation services
