Change this project to a template instead of recommending a fork

We heart this project as a reusable tool! Unfortunately, in reusing it as recommended (i.e. by forking this project), we keep accidentally making PRs on the original project. I have not found out if, and if so where, we can sever this connection between the original project and the fork; for our project it may be too late...

For future projects, though, it could be nice to change this behavior: by making this repository a template project, and adding information on using the template to the readme, instead of recommending a fork...

Apparently, to disconnect a fork, you have to go through github support. I put in a request to detach our project.
