Only devices supported by Vivado 2017.2 can be added?

I'm thinking only the device that Vivado 2017.2 supports can be added.
In my test, if Vivado 2017.2 can't find the new device (it means Vivado 2017.2 can't support the device), then we can not add the device, as the "source" step will fail.
All in all: Vivado 2017.2 can't find the device -> Vivado 2017.2 can't support the device -> the "source" step fails -> can not add the device

Open Vivado to create the project. When selecting the chip, for Spartan7, only the xc7s50 series chips are optional; the xc7s25 series chips information cannot be found. It means that the Vivado 2017.2 software used by Prjxray only supports the xc7s50 series for Spartan7, and does not support other series such as xc7s25?
Therefore, is it impossible to add xc7s25?
Or we can use the newer Vivado, instead of only Vivado 2017.2, as in Quickstart?
