Description
๐ Request description
As part of the provided dashboard and in the context to have visibility about consistency between the different BIG-IP devices, we would like to know if it would be possible to add some additional metrics.
Please find below the different metrics we've identified as of today and why we believe that it might be an added value.
๐ Metric: Build
In the following dashboard 'Dashboard > BigIP - Fleet > Fleet inventory' we saw that there was a table about 'Inventory Detail' in which we can find the version of the different BIG-IP.
However there is no information about the build.
โน๏ธ Why would this information be an added value?
We believe that this would allow people, for instance as part of upgrade campaign, to improve the level of information on this consolidated view and validate be able to validate that all devices are running the same version and build.
๐ Metric: Attack signature version
We went through the different provided dashboards and didn't find any information about the attack signature version.
โน๏ธ Why would this information be an added value?
That's a bit the same reasoning than for the metric 'Build'. We believe that having this information displayed on the inventory table (for instance) might be an added value to ensure that all BIG-IP devices have the same version, or at least have the proper version installed.
๐ Metric: Information about the different partition (disk)
In the following dashboard 'Dashboard > BigIP - Device > Device Overview' there is information about the disk on widget 'Disk Use'.
However, we don't see information (usage) about the different filesystem partition:
- /var/log
- /var
- /shared
- /config
- /appdata
- /
โน๏ธ Why would this information be an added value?
We do see two main advantage to have access to those metrics:
- Have visibility on partition usage for each BIG-IP device: This formatted in a table or equivalent which would allow us to easily see the status of each partition per device.
- For alerting purpose: This would allow people to define alerting based on partition usage threshold and therefore allow to take proactive action before file system full.
I hope information are clear enough. Should you need more information, please feel free to ask.
I wish you a nice day,
Best regards
