Notifications
You must be signed in to change notification settings - Fork 9
Description
Notification support is probably going to get refactored.
-
wx.adv.NotificationMessagesseems like it should be a decent replacement for Windows and Linux. -
For macOS,
wx.adv.NotificationMessagespops up messages in the notification center, but without creating an app bundle and providing a plist that will enable notifications to appear as banners, it's basically worthless. We still useterminal-notifier, but it looks like that project may or may not be dead, but the tool is still functional. We may want to move away from the tool as it may not be functional in the future. If we could maybe use applescript or something from command line, that may be sufficient. Worse case scenario is we usewx.adv.NotificationMessagesand we just note that notifications will not work properly on macOS. I'm always annoyed at how dumb it is that Apple has locked notifications down like this...
Again, there is no need to rush here as everything is still working great. Just thinking about how to simplify the support and make maintenance even easier.
