Hello, thank you again for this amazing awesome extension !

Please I have request please : we have to make many academic research and it will be great it there is option to copy url address bar automatically when selection please, because we need to copy the source of these articles and I have to quickly copy the url address of found sources and documentation and it will be great please to make option to automatically copy the url address of the press articles when we click and select the content of the address bar !

As mentioned in in the readme (search for "Technically impossible") this is, well, technically impossible: With a web extension like this one you simply do not have access to the URL address bar. With XUL extensions this was possible, but these got desupported by Mozilla a long time ago.

The Basilisk web browser still seems to support XUL extensions, but please don't ask me whether that browser is up-to-date with respect to web standards and safety.

Hm, yet on the other hand web extension APIs have evolved since the last couple of years. I'll have another look, probably there is something that could be used to implement something like this. After all, I'd really like to have that feature as well.

Yesss I have basilisk browser and palemoon browsers installed on my computer for a long time because when the wifi becomes weak and many members of my family are connected, the streaming jerks so palemoon and basilisk browsers allow me to avoid these problems of jerky playback and I can almost full buffer a lot of videos from different streaming sites.... thank you again for your precious help :)

And Mr @farblos , we know it is very complex and difficult to include this feature and Copy-on-select-2 is already a magnificent, fast and powerful extension 💯 and we thank you so much and It will be even more fantastic and thrilling to add this feature !

I did some research and I believe these open source extensions for firefox are the most reliable for copying the url address....

my wish was to use only one united single extension for more simplicity, which is why I talked about this feature.....

Hello, I talked with Mr Jamie Hill the developer of extension Auto copy in the chrome web store to inclure feature to copy url adress bar :

and he answered me :

"Unfortunately that's not possible due to how the extension works.  However, take a look at the extension options, there's a setting to add an information comment to a selection on the page.  One of the things you can do is include the URL with that : "

So it will be amazing please to include this option to Copy-on-select-2 , thank you !

Thanks for continuing work on great addon. Trying to migrate to Firefox and I too am looking for equivalent of Hill's Chrome Auto Copy. Below seems like a relatively simple firefox addon that can grab urls and titles with 70 lines of code.

Another very useful feature of Hill's Auto Copy is alerting via toast notification in corner of webpage to confirm successful copying. Which is useful, at least on Chrome or Auto Copy because very occasionally, but frequently enough, auto copy does not register. I'm not sure if that has to do with Hill's code or system being eccentric outside of browser. But this is useful when using autocopy in conjunction with a clip board manager, to ensure no missed copies when doing bulk tasks.

@digyan Thanks for the pointer, the encouragement, and the description of your use case. Will have a look at that as well, BUT:

• This may take a while. Maybe during the upcoming holiday season I will have time to take a look.
• Plus I'm not yet sure whether and how far I really want to move into the Auto Copy direction. I really liked the simplicity of the original copy-on-select and don't want to end like AutocopySelection2Clipboard, which (in my opinion) drowned in features.
