Features & Usage

This page explains how to use the card's various features after it has been configured.

Search & Filtering

  • Live Search: Simply type in the search bar. Results are filtered instantly. The search checks names, areas, and entity IDs.
  • Filter Syntax (Custom Mode only): Refine your search with filters.
    • category:"Main Course" pasta finds all pasta dishes in the "Main Course" category.
    • Supported filter keywords: category, type, area, time, difficulty.
  • Switching Categories: Click the icon to the left of the search bar to switch between the main categories (Devices, Scripts, Custom, etc.).
  • Switching Views & Grouping: Click the filter icon on the right to toggle between Grid/List view and grouping by Category/Area.

Detail View & Controls

Clicking a search result opens the detail view with specific controls:

  • Lights: A circular slider controls brightness. Buttons allow for quick selection of color temperatures or preset colors.
  • Covers: A circular slider controls the exact position. Buttons for fully open, close, and stop are also available.
  • Climate: Control the target temperature with the circular slider. Buttons for operating modes (heat, cool), fan speeds, and vane positions offer full control.
  • Media Player: Control the volume and playback (Play/Pause, Next/Previous track).

Shortcuts: Timers & Schedules

In the detail view of a device, you will find a "Shortcuts" tab. Here you can:

  • Create Timers: Select an action (e.g., "Turn off", "Dim to 50%") and a duration (e.g., 15 minutes). The card will create a corresponding timer via the scheduler integration.
  • Create Schedules: Set up recurring actions (e.g., "turn on the light every weekday at 6:30 PM").

Music Assistant Integration

When controlling a Music Assistant player, the detail view offers advanced features:

  • Click the "Music Assistant" button to open a search interface.
  • Search for artists, albums, tracks, or playlists in your Music Assistant library.
  • Click a result to play it immediately, add it to the queue, or play it next.
