Raspberry Pi Loops installation endlessly complaining about Python.

Describe the bug
I tried installing it on a Raspberry Pi Zero WH & on a Raspberry Pi B+ V1 2.
On all of the devices the Github repository was downloaded, but as soon as I made the installation command after the check of system requirements, which had a tick, there were yellow errors about python, trying to install the system requirements [/], which looped endlessly.

The first time I had a 3.5 Inch E-Paper Module from waveshare plugged in. As it's not supported, I wanted to try it on the Raspberry Pi B+. So I did the installation again, without any screen attached. I had the same error.

I was thinking about buying a screen, that is supported, but now that I'm uncertain, that this repository might be broken, I'm hesitant.

The Raspberry Pi Zero series of SBCs are not supported by InkyPi; the major reason being the chromium-headless-shell application will not run. This is probably true for all Raspberry Pi models released before the Raspberry Pi 3 (such as your Raspberry Pi B+).

Regardless, I tried installing InkyPi on my Raspberry Pi Zero W, using a Raspberry Pi OS Trixie 32bit Lite image (fully updated with apt).

The installation took over 2 hours, but completed successfully.

It takes that long because some packages are compiled from source and the RPi Zero only has as single core CPU and 512MB RAM.

You should have a better experience with a more recent Raspberry Pi, like the Zero 2, since they will have more performant CPUs, and possibly more RAM.

Hey there! Thank you for your answer. I am giving it another try, as we speak.
I really hope it will work. It is a waveshare screen and it's connected with GPIO pins. I hope InkyPi can still control it.

Hi @Jason4321Nowww,

When you ran the installation script did you specify your Waveshare display model?

For example, if your model was epd7in3f, then you would have ran:

sudo bash install/install.sh -W epd7in3f
