not working with universal e-ink hat

I am attempting to run InkyPi with the Waveshare universal e-ink hat, and the 4.2in screen WFT0420CZ15 LW.

It doesn't seem to work, is it compatible?

It seems to be working if I use the GPIO pins and not the hat, but still has some issues with not refreshing the whole screen sometimes.
