i18n support is broken

It seems Internationalization support has been broken with the code refactoring, because new strings are being written directly into the view instead of using the gettext (underscore) function. Any chance we can have that back? It's still working in some places (like the header menu items). It'd be cool if could fix that and ping the translators while the strings are (relatively) frozen.

Yeah, I thought about it after I broke it unfortunately :/
I also changed a lot of strings so these would need to be provided in app.pot, right? I'm not too familiar with i18n in rails, so any hints welcome :)

Yeah, you can run rake gettext:find and it should update the POT file for you. We would also have to point Transifex, the online l10n tool we use, to this new repository.
After that, Transifex should notify the translators that the strings have been updated, so they can upload the new PO files. However, it might be better to wait till the strings are "frozen" (i.e. almost certain to not change) to actually do this, so that no work is repeated.
