Feature Description

I'd like to use already existing SMB shares as volumes.

Use Case

For example, I want to install something like Librephotos but in order to make it happen I need to connect a directory with already shared photos with the rest of family. Mixing up different sharing backends is discouraged by TrueNAS vendor.

During implementation of iSCSI there were many quirks and missing points. Hopefully this time I didn't forget about anything.

SMB protocol support has been implemented and is available starting with v0.15.0.

Features include:

• Full volume lifecycle (create, delete, expand, clone)
• Snapshots (including detached snapshots via zfs send/receive)
• User-level authentication via Kubernetes Secrets (username/password per mount)
• ReadWriteMany and ReadWriteOnce access modes
• All the same StorageClass features as NFS (name templating, ZFS properties, delete strategy retain, volume adoption, etc.)
