The previous SDK generator used Faraday as it's HTTP client. It is by far the most popular Ruby HTTP client available, and still receives frequent updates. The real benefit of Faraday is the ability to swap out the adapters (i.e., the library that will make the actual request) without changing the overhead abstractions. This means you can use whichever adapter is correct for the job (see benchmarks comparing the adapters here). There's also a wide assortment of middleware available.
