Unifi Network 9.4.1 DHCPv6 options

Hello,
First of all, thanks for the great work, works flawlessly.
I saw in the latest release of UniFi Network Application (9.4.1) that there is a change related to DHCPv6 options.
Any idea if it will impact this script ?

• Added DHCPv6 client options and DHCPv6 CoS to WAN settings for increased compatibility with select ISPs.

I have also just seen the new feature. If there is an impact with the script (or no longer necessary), is there a way to retrieve the configuration parameters of the DHCP options that the script injects before launching the update on the UDM side?

Yeah, I saw the announcement.
I have no clue about what it means in practice, my guess would be that we'll have the same type of DHCP settings in V6 than those we've always had in V4. So you will have to enter the V6 options "manually".

Please note that I do not intend to test this release until both Network 9.4.11 and Unifi OS 4.4 (prereq) are in RC, as I have only one UCG at home, and I always avoid to implement beta versions.

To answer your questions :

• first one : I won't know until the RC comes, but as dhcpv6-mod replaces the original odhcp6c client binary call by a new call with the correct parameters (computed from the V4 ones), there's a high chance that it continues to work, whatever the new feature does (except if the way the parameters are passed changes, but as the odhcp6c binary origin is not Unifi (only modded by Unifi), I suppose they will not change the option flag names....just a guess

• second one : everything about the generation of V6 options (and thus the valid settings to enter in the potential new input fields in Network) is explained in the documentation, e.g. here : https://github.com/fgero/dhcpv6-mod?tab=readme-ov-file#configure_dhcpv6

One last thing : as there's a Unifi OS upgrade (to 4.4) the dhcpv6-mod is inactivated, anyway...so you end up using Unifi's dhcp v6 client untainted...until you decide (or not) to run ./intall-dhcpv6-mod.sh, as documented.

@arakeri10 here's another way to answer your question

Potentially it's as simple as copying what you already entered as DHCPv4 options, like so :

• V4 option 60 -> V6 option 16 (e.g. "sagem")
• V4 option 77 -> V6 option 15 (e.g. like FSVDSL_livebox.Internet.softathome.Livebox5, change the last char)
• V4 option 90 -> V6 option 11 (e.g. like 00:00:... , your own 70 bytes in hexstring for authentication)
• potentially option "MAC addr clone" (which is V4 option 61) -> V6 option 1 (but it could be unnecessary to set that)

Re-reading the notes, it appears that the DHCPv6 (specific) feature does not require UnifiOS 4.4....for me that means /usr/sbin/odhcp6c is unchanged (because AFAIK this binary is provided by UnifiOS, not by Network).
So dhcpv6-mod should continue to work...
The new Network feature probably instructs udapi to call odhcp6c with some new fields in the Network WAN dialogs
If anyone wants to test Network 9.4.1....personally I'll wait for the RC

Je viens de passer en UniFi OS 4.4.0 et Réseau 9.4.19

Le script fonctionne toujours, à tester, mais je pense qu'il ne doit plus être nécessaire. Nous avons maintenant dans les paramètres un choix d'option comme en v4. Donc avec les bonnes informations des options 11, 15 et 16 cela devait fonctionner je pense. Et nous avons aussi une notion de DHCPv6 CoS

I'm still waiting for Unifi OS 4.4 to be in Release Candidate status, and that's apparently a prerequisite for the new DHCPv6 options (along with a Network 9.4 which I already have).
And yes, the combo makes probably this mod useless, I look forward to testing it :)
