Project Summary

Wizverse is a live multiplayer Web3 battle game that generates a continuous stream of gameplay data, NFT metadata, and economic records tied to real on-chain value. While ownership and rewards are handled on-chain, long-term storage of historical game data, match results, platform activity, and NFT state snapshots still represents a critical challenge as the game scales. Relying on centralized storage for this data introduces risks around data loss, availability, and long-term verifiability.

This project proposes integrating Filecoin as the decentralized, long-term storage layer for Wizverse. Core non-ephemeral data—such as NFT metadata snapshots, battle results, prize pool distributions, and platform activity logs—will be persisted via IPFS and stored on Filecoin. This ensures that critical game history remains durable, censorship-resistant, and independently verifiable, fully aligning Wizverse with Web3 ownership principles and reducing reliance on centralized infrastructure.

Impact

Web3 games increasingly promise true ownership, yet many still depend on centralized servers to store historical and economic data. This creates a structural contradiction where NFTs exist on-chain, but the data that gives them long-term meaning can disappear or be altered. By adopting Filecoin, Wizverse addresses this gap and demonstrates a practical, production-grade use of decentralized storage in a real-time multiplayer game.

Getting this right strengthens player trust, protects the integrity of NFT assets, and provides transparency for platform owners and competitive players. Failing to decentralize storage risks undermining the long-term credibility of in-game economies and NFT-based systems. Success for this project is measured by sustained Filecoin storage usage driven by live gameplay, reliable retrieval of historical data, and a replicable architecture that other Web3 games can adopt.

Outcomes

The project will deliver a production-ready Filecoin storage pipeline integrated into the live Wizverse game. Final outcomes include automated data onboarding to Filecoin, standardized schemas for game and NFT-related data, and retrieval mechanisms that allow historical records to be accessed and verified over time.

All tooling, integration code, and documentation will be open-sourced, enabling other developers to reuse or adapt the architecture. Success metrics include the volume of data stored on Filecoin, retrieval reliability, and continued usage as Wizverse scales its active player base and on-chain activity.

Data Onboarding

Not applicable.
This project focuses on decentralized storage of application-generated game data rather than onboarding externally sourced datasets to the Filecoin network.

Adoption, Reach, and Growth Strategies

The primary audience for this project is the existing Wizverse player base, NFT holders, and platform owners. Wizverse has already reached approximately 15,000 MAU and 300 DAU within two months of launch, supported by an active community of over 25,000 members across Discord, Telegram, and X.

Adoption of the Filecoin-backed storage layer is automatic and invisible to end users. Players are onboarded through gameplay itself, with Filecoin usage scaling organically as more battles are played, NFTs are traded, and platforms are used. Growth is driven by real in-game activity rather than separate user acquisition campaigns for the storage layer.

Development Roadmap

Milestone 1 – Architecture Design & Storage Specification
This milestone focuses on defining how Wizverse game data is structured, stored, and retrieved using IPFS and Filecoin. Work includes identifying which data should be persisted long-term, designing standardized schemas for gameplay records and NFT-related data, and defining the storage and retrieval flow. At the end of this milestone, Wizverse will have a clear, documented architecture ready for implementation.

Team: 1 blockchain engineer
Duration: March 1, 2026 – March 21, 2026
Funding: $5,000

Milestone 2 – Filecoin Integration & Implementation
This phase covers implementation of the Filecoin storage pipeline. It includes automated uploads of game data to IPFS, storage deals on Filecoin, and integration of retrieval logic into the Wizverse backend. Comprehensive testing ensures data integrity, reliability, and performance under live gameplay conditions.

Team: 1 blockchain engineer
Duration: March 22, 2026 – April 30, 2026
Funding: $7,000

Milestone 3 – Production Deployment & Open-Source Release
The final milestone deploys the Filecoin-backed storage layer to the live Wizverse game. It also includes publishing open-source repositories, documentation, and usage guidelines so other Web3 game developers can reuse or adapt the solution. Monitoring is added to track storage usage and retrieval success.

Relevant Experience

The Wizverse team has hands-on experience building and operating a live Web3 game with real users, on-chain NFTs, and smart contract–driven economic mechanics. The team has already designed, deployed, and maintained production smart contracts for NFT ownership, dynamic pricing, and prize pool distribution, while simultaneously operating a real-time multiplayer game backend.

Beyond game development, the team has practical experience in scaling Web3 products, managing live economies, and maintaining user-facing infrastructure under real usage conditions. This combination of live product operations, blockchain integration, and long-term roadmap execution positions the team well to design and maintain a decentralized storage layer using Filecoin as part of Wizverse’s core infrastructure.
