I encountered the same issues.
I copied an old ntdll.dll file and put it in the folder of the programs that use it.
Seems to be working as an expedient and transitional measure, I am not sure if this makes sense technically.

Besides app crash, Remote Desktop sessions are observed to be very unstable, they get disconnected frequently.
