Feature: User Preference to switch to system default delay clicking file name

What feature or improvement do you think would benefit Files?

Problem in Files when I click a selected file, the delay until cursor highlights the text is about 1500ms - 2000ms.
Way too long!

Can we have a user setting to switch it to the system default so it's exactly the same as File Explorer?

In File explorer it's about 750ms
In Dolphin File manager it's also about 750ms

Its seems like Files has changed this many times, let the user decide, after all we're the ones that use it and it's not good when someone else defines their preference over the user, especially int he case where it's not consistent with the OS.

• This proposal will accomplish Y
• This proposal will accomplish Z
  Best of both worlds, to have Normalcy with the system or Developers defined delay setting.

Thanks for the feedback, are you talking about the double click to rename or hover to select a file/folder? As the timing have only changed to the hover select option.

Hey Josh, well I suppose it could be considered double click to rename, but technically it's already selected with a single click, then click again to rename has a delay and yes it has changed about 4 releases ago.
Nevermind, it's not important to me anymore.
I just discovered Directory Opus 13 now has 'Expandable folders' in Details view, instant buy and everything else instantly uninstalled and lost interested in.

Directory Opus does absolutely everything.
