Feature: Lock Sorting for Individual Folders

What feature or improvement do you think would benefit Files?

I would either of these options:
a. The ability to lock sorting method for specific folders manually
b. Files to remember the selected sorting method for folders when deviating from default sorting

Background:
I prefer sorting my Downloads folder by 'Date Created' and have to set it manually every time I open it because my default and preferred sorting method is by 'Name' for most other folders.

Example of desired functionality:
a. Right click on the sorting bar above the files list to open the context menu, then click a option akin to 'Set as default for this folder' located next to current 'Set as default' button.
b. Changing sorting of a specific folder automatically sets and remembers the sorting for that folder without affecting any other folders' sorting selection or default sorting. So anytime you adjust the sorting of a specific folder it will lock that sorting for that folder while maintaining the selected global default sorting for all other folders that have not had their specific sorting changed.

Requirements

• This will allow users to adjust individual file sorting on a per-folder basis.

Thanks for the feedback, per folder layout, sorting and grouping is already available by

1. Setting your default layout in any folder
2. Turn off Files settings > Layouts > Sync layout and sorting preferences across directories
3. Set per folder settings the same way as before

Oh, amazing! I thought it was a bit odd not to have this functionality + thought I had searched thoroughly for it. Glad to know it was there this whole time and just an oversight on my part. Thank you!!
