Feature: Show separate number of files and folder in status bar

What feature or improvement do you think would benefit Files?

It would be a nice touch to list the number of files and the number of folders in the current view in the status bar instead (or besides) of the total number of items.

Requirements

There is sometimes the need to know exactly how many files and folder you have in a certain directory.

This behaviour exists in other file explorers such as Directory Opus.

Thank you for your feedback. This information is already displayed in the properties window, so it shouldn't be hard to display it in the Status Bar, however we'd like to let this sit for a while to see how much interest exists for this proposal. Alternatively, if we decide to keep the Status Bar as is, we can at least add this information to the Details Pane.
