What feature or improvement do you think would benefit Files?

1. Everything is good except that there are too many animations, which can cause lag. (Maybe most Windows 10 users feel that Windows 11 has too many animations and is laggy.) It would be better if there was a switch to set this.

2. When opening the software, it will check for updates, and you have to wait for about three seconds.

3. After taking over the system's built-in functions, opening "This PC" will show that the drive has been ejected, which causes me to see two windows every time I open the software.

4. Pinning files to the left window never works; I have to use the system's built-in function to pin them.

5. Labels should be renamable directly in the lower left corner instead of requiring an extra step to open the settings. It would also be good to sort labels up and down.

So I prefer to pin my frequently used files so that I can reach them with just one click. But pinning too many is not good. 7. The right-click menu is densely packed and overly redundant. It may be more acceptable to Windows 11 users, but it's better to be clear and practical. I am also a Windows 11 user, but I have used various beautification settings to make it look like Windows 10. There were more than a dozen right-click options, and I also used third-party software to close them all. I have severe obsessive-compulsive disorder. For now, that's all. The appearance of this software is the most beautiful I've ever seen. Thank you very much for the software.

Files doesn't have many animation and none of them affect performance, you can turn them off using Windows settings > Accessibility > Visual effects > Animation effects

If you are seeing the app installer window, this is an issue with app installer. You can use the Microsoft store or Update Windows and app installer. Open CMD/Terminal > run winget install Microsoft.AppInstaller

You can right click them to get to the settings page for tags. There only option is in settings so that all of them can be done in one place consistently.

If you are seeing the app installer window, this is an issue with app installer. You can use the Microsoft store or Update Windows and app installer. Open CMD/Terminal > run winget install Microsoft.AppInstaller

As @Josh65-2201 mentioned, we want to avoid having multiple UIs for editing tags, however, it would be nice if there was a 'rename' shortcut that opened the correct page in settings and automatically triggered the rename for the relevant tag. Can you please start a new feature request to track this?

In addition to the issue @Josh65-2201 linked above, you can hide a number of the built-in context menu options from the general settings page.

I’ve turned off all the right-click options, but there are still way too many. I really like the appearance of this software, but I can’t seem to stick with it. I keep switching between this software and the built-in File Explorer.

I’m going to send two pictures. One shows the right-click menu in the built-in File Explorer—it’s very clean. I used a software called ContextMenuManager from GitHub to remove all the unnecessary items.

In the second picture, I’ve highlighted two different areas. On the left, the right-click menu has no animation, which feels really comfortable. On the right, the right-click menu on the blank space has an animation. It feels as soft as candy when you use it (if it’s not clear, I can send a video).

Maybe there’s a big difference between how Chinese software and foreign software are designed. The software here is very messy, which makes people prefer apps from the Chrome Store or international versions because they’re clean and tidy.

There’s a software in the Microsoft Store called RX File Explorer that has an option to turn off animations. Once you do that, it feels really straightforward and refreshing. Unfortunately, the software isn’t very flexible overall.

There’s a website in China similar to YouTube called Bilibili. The software there seems to lean more towards something like QTTabbar. Files – Preview is almost non-existent.

I don’t know much about the development environment for software, but many people prefer not to update their software. So they choose the smooth old versions of Windows 10. It’s really a shame that the Indians developed Windows 11. It keeps having bugs, and the software design is terrible.

我发的两张截图只是为了对比一下这个软件和系统自带的。但是这个软件实在太慢了。在侧边栏右键还算流畅，但在右侧文件夹的空白处右键就很卡了。不过都比不上系统自带的。我觉得这跟软件硬件没关系。或许我可以拍个视频，方便大家理解。
