Bug: Hidden objects not shown

Description

Hidden files and folders are not shown, even when the Hidden Items toggle is on.

Steps To Reproduce

1. Navigate to C:\Users\David
2. Click the Layout button on the toolbar
3. Click the Hidden Items toggle

Hidden items in the folder are not displayed.

Thanks for the report, does Windows File Explorer show the items you expect with hidden items enabled and Hide protected operating system files enabled?

Yes, I have Git installed (obviously), and that folder is full of hidden objects. I can see them in Windows Explorer.

Please check that Files settings > Files & folders > Hidden items > Show dot files is enabled
