@myyesterdays WindNinja is used on nearly every large fire incident in the US. It is also used for planning (e.g., prescribed fire, fuel treatments) and accident investigations. It is used by interagency incident management team members, on-the-ground firefighters, burn bosses, etc. It's also embedded in a number of our operational fire systems including the Wildland Fire Decision Support System, FlamMap, and the Interagency Fuel Treatment Decision Support System. |

Hi Natalie et al.
Found an academic paper regarding using Wind Ninja to predict Santa Ana Winds. https://agu.confex.com/agu/fm23/meetingapp.cgi/Paper/1410260
No doubt it is promising. Just wonder if Wind Ninja has been actually used for prediction by GOV agencies or any other organizations in recent California Fire?
