Thanks for this question: I will look into this more when I get some time. I do know that with really large shifts, it can be tricky to get it right -- we have gotten questions about this before. |

I am using the alignment function across sessions to identify unique components (neurons) across days of Ca 2p imaging recordings of 512 px x 512 px. (register_multisession function) but as you see in the examples the alignment does not work properly... (In blue background ground truth for a cell highlighted in green, in yellowish background what the algorithm does for the same cell highlighted in orange)




Any thoughts on how to tweak register_multisession parameters like thres_cost or max_dist and others to allow alignment when large translations have happened (~300 px)?
