#TIP 572: Intend to work on extending Tcl core to specify the call by name evaluation strategy

This feature targets to the bounty item: Call-by-name syntactic sugar for proc definitions that would obviate most uses of upvar. This requires an extension of the Tcl core.
I have already worked out a concept and have implemented the mechanism to specify the procedure argument call types. The new feature solves also another issues which are beyond the bounty requirement.

That and the related options bounty have received major push-back from the Tcl core team and even if we weren’t putting the program on hiatus I would discourage you from getting involved.
