Hi, I recently switched to Floccus after xBrowserSync stopped working. I’m using both Brave and Firefox (for different reasons I won’t go into here), and I’ve read through the Guide and FAQs. However, it’s not clear how to properly set up sync between two browsers. The documentation seems to focus on syncing just one.
Here’s what I’m doing:
In Brave, I create an account and sync it to Google Drive. This creates a file in Drive named Brave_bookmarks.xbel.
I go to Firefox and expect to import that same file so the bookmarks mirror each other.
When using the import/export option, it defaults to importing a JSON file. I can switch to XBEL and select the Brave file, but nothing happens.
The only other option seems to be creating a new profile in Firefox, which then creates a new XBEL file in Drive. This still doesn’t show bookmarks from Brave, and vice versa.
I thought Floccus was designed to sync bookmarks across browsers using a shared file, so both browsers stay in sync. Am I misunderstanding how profiles or file access works with Floccus?
Is this expected behavior, or am I missing a step somewhere?
Any clarification would be really appreciated.
Thanks!
Chris
