Syslog output plugin supporting IPv6

Hi,
Currently we use fluent-plugin-remote_syslog output plugin to send data from fluentd to a rsyslog destination.
When we attempt to configure an IPv6 address for the rsyslog host destination, fluentd fails with this error -

 <store>                          
  @type remote_syslog                
  protocol udp                      
  host "[2a00:8a00:4000:435::139]"  
  port 514                          
</store>

From the below links, it appears that IPv6 is a limitation with this plugin

Is there an alternative syslog output recommended by fluentd that supports IPv6?
