Help in PHP Code

Sorry, not a bug, but I'm not sure where to post for help in coding something. I'm not a PHP programmer, so I'm a bit lost on how to do this, so maybe this would fit somewhere else better since the forums are no longer where this type of question could be posted.

I want to create a rule that checks to see if a field already exists, and if not, then return an error to the user. Sorry if this isn't the correct place to request this stuff.

Hey sorry for not getting back to you, @ocbroadband. Did you get anywhere with this? Generally probably best to post in the formtools/core repo - that's the chattiest place and where you're most likely to get help. Alternatively if it's just coding related, I'd actually post on Stack Overflow - there's a massive community of devs there to help.
