How to specify files that contain multiple blocks of key-value and tabular data?

Hello,

Newbie here.

My question has to do with text files that contain measurement data captured by a diagnostic, such as an FTIR (Fourier Transform IR) Spectrometer.

These data files contains multiple blocks of data separated by blank lines. They are occasionally prefaced by comment lines.

The data blocks themselves can be either key-value or tables.

I have questions:

• Is there a schema for specifying key-value pairs?
• Is there a schema for specifying the overall organization of the file into blocks of data?
• Is there a schema to specify comment lines and block separators.

I suspect all this exist, but I was not able to find it.
