What is the difference between v1 and v2? #3307

I can see there are branches for v1.x and then another branch for v2.x but neither seems to have any documentation on the difference or reason for different major versions. Both branches seem to be actively getting updates however. |

v1 is the current main branch. v2 is a branch under development/WIP and version 2.x has not been released. |

What are the changes to make it v2? I assume there are some breaking changes, but are there some specific new features that are coming with v2? or a rewrite of anything particular? |
