Constrain gatsby-plugin-image by height?

Obviously, the constrain property of gatsby-plugin-image scales down images based on the width of the container - I'm probably being very dim but is there a simple solution to getting images to scale down based on the height of the container?

Trying to align a load of images with different aspect ratios in a % scaled row
