Documentation available (including external) for integrating webcomponents

Looking for some references to any documentation that shows an example of using a webcomponent in the html.js file. I am trying to use https://lit.dev/ and have tried its predecessor lit-elements (https://lit-element.polymer-project.org/guide), but not having much luck.
