MS EWS deprecation - is this library affected?

Hey everyone,

I just got to know that Microsoft is actively deprecating EWS in Exchange Online in 2026.

My question is the following: will this library be affected by this (given the name its very likely, but I wanted to be sure) ?

this is affected but if you have anything which interacts with on-prem version it is still helpful. You can still use with MS even though it is deprecated, you need to use oauth authentication. Added example code in readme for v0.15, also see this for how to setup RBAC for Apps - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/permissions-exo/application-rbac

this way you can get oauth credential and connect to o365.

So to confirm: if I'm already using M365 and RBAC scenarios, there is no need to change to anything else even though it says

Today, we are announcing that on October 1, 2026, we will start blocking EWS requests from non-Microsoft apps to Exchange Online.
