It is possible to add hatches to a 2D visualization?

sorry for not responding earlier. As of now it does not seem possible to add hatches easily. I do think it would be a valuable little feature that we will try to add in the future. As we changed the structure of gempy a little with the new release of gempy v3, I will transfer this issue to the gempy_viewer repository.

I'm only adding this to support the idea of adding hatches, but i would also love to see some of the functionality of striplog added into gempy like this older tutorial (2019) mentions. https://docs.gempy.org/integrations/gempy_striplog.html#sphx-glr-download-integrations-gempy-striplog-py

It essentially takes the surfaces from the geomodel and creates a legend for the striplog plot. I'm still working on it with the newer version of Gempy.

We get lithological information from mining companies coming in and we have to convert them into displays without the use of expensive geologic software like Rockware, Geographix, ESRI(not geologic but mapping). It would be awesome to see an updated version of this tutorial.

Hi @DCCP80,

thanks for your question/comment. With gempy 3 we tried to reduce the number of dependencies to create a stable core version. I think this feature would fit the new "gempy_plugins" repository.

In full honesty - as this is an open source project and as much as we would love to we do not have time/funding to work on things like that often - it is probably not very high on the priority list.

Quickly looking at the old example you linked it should be possible to create a similar example using gempy3. If you are able to create such an example yourself and be willing to share it with the community I would be happy to help adding it as an example to the gempy webpage.
