add user/group permissions to multiple objects

In order to allow other users/groups to view/edit certain collections of records, it should be possible to assign permissions to a selection of objects. For instance, I need to allow research group members from other institutions to see/edit few hundreds of samples. This is most feasible using selections of records defined by user. In the selection view, there should be a separate permissions panel for adding permissions for selection objects.
