set mdsource from pycsw-admin.py

we're looking for a mechanism to introduce for records, from which source they are imported (via an external harvesting mechanism). the pycsw:mdsource field

i wonder if it would be an option to add a parameter --source=xxxx in pycsw-admin.py, however in that case all records imported in that batch should have the same source

An alternative would be to use a field from the metadata

any alternative ideas?

At a later stage I want to check if i can expose the mdsource field as one of the metadata properties, for example dct:isReferencedBy
